All Coaches and Assistants are required to register through the MSA

•  CARS Check (form will be provided)
• Respect in Sport for Activity Leader's (Good for 5 Years)
• Grassroots course (online portion only) for the level they are coaching.

2025 Registration is now open. All players in Manitoba (U3-U18) will be required to register with the Manitoba Soccer Association in order to participate in the season.  MSA registration is separate from our registration process and must be completed online. We cannot accept cash payments for the MSA Fee. Visa Debit is accepted online for this fee.

Are you already at the fields supporting your child's love for soccer? Are you a fan of team sports and the long term development of our young athletes?  Without convenors and coaches we would not be able to run a soccer program. Please contact us for more information on how to become a coach or your future soccer convener role!

Timbits Mini Soccer at Assiniboia West is one of the many outdoor programs which offer a safe and supportive environment for young players to play and learn the game of soccer. The teams are co-ed and divided into the following age categories:

Timbits U3/U4 (born in 2022 and 2021)   At this age our ‘micro – soccer’ teams have the smallest nets and team sizes to ensure fair play for all. The children are encouraged to participate, and gain a very basic knowledge of skills and rules. The primary emphasis is on having fun and on learning how to be part of a team.

Timbits U5/U6 (born in 2020 and 2019)  At this age group, our ‘mini – soccer’ players continue skill development in a fun and supportive environment.   At this level the kids learn to respect the rules of the game, their coaches, teammates and opponents.  A short practice of fun games and drills precedes each game and will introduce some new skills.

Timbits U7/U8 (born in 2018 and 2017)  At this point children should compete fairly, within the spirit and rules of the game, and show respect for all those involved.  Winning is not the most important factor at these developmental stages; having fun and showing effort, determination and a positive attitude is.  As well, because this begins an introduction to more competitive soccer, this age group transitions to larger fields & team sizes.  New skills are introduced and developed and there is an expectation that by the time they play their second year at this level, they will be prepared for a competitive league at the age of age nine (should they choose to continue with soccer).  If there are enough girls registered we will split the boys and girls at this age.

2025 TIMBITS MINI SOCCER SCHEDULE
Timbits Mini Soccer dates typically depend on the spring weather. However, the season generally runs during the months of May and June.   

All games take place at the Assiniboia West site on Buchanan Blvd.

Timbits U3/U4 - Wednesday 6pm - 6:45pm
Timbits U5/U6 - Monday & Wednesday 6pm - 7pm
Timbits U7/U8 - Tuesday & Thursday 6pm - 7pm
 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• In 2025 our goal is to have smaller teams with fewer players on the field (3v3 or 4v4), with the goal being for kids to get more touches on the ball.
• With regards to skill development and to help kids get more touches on the ball, our plan is to have 20 minutes skill development/drills and 40 minutes of game time for the 5/6 & 7/8 age groups. The 3/4's would have a 15 minute development/training session and 30 minutes of game time.

Volunteers are needed to ensure the continued success of our programs! We are always looking for friendly volunteers willing to give a little of their time to helping out and coaching our children. If this is something you may be interested in doing please do not hesitate to contact us!
